Separating and capturing CO2 from flue gas is a challenge the World must overcome in near future. Ionic liquids are a promising solution. These ionic compounds have melting points below 100 degrees celcius, and show interesting CO2 absorption, worth investigating. This project concerns model calculations on specialized ionic liquids currently being sythesized in an ongoing research project at DTU Chemistry and inspires to design the best Ionic Liquids suitable for effective and economic CO2 capturing. This project adds to keep DTU on the international forefront regarding climate research and development of climate control technologies.
